Getting Rich Off the Net

Ok so today I was kinda freaking out. I woke up, took Annie to the bus stop, came home made coffee, looked for a job and claimed unemployment. Hey guess what!? My unemployment runs out today! Yea me! So I decided to look for jobs I could do at home. There is a whole slew of ads out there telling people they can work from home and make $750 for 3 simple hours of work! OK! I'm not dumb! I know you can't do that just by reading email but that lead me to wonder just how much one can make from reading emails or posting blogs?

Let's first look at how the whole "Get paid to blog" or "Get paid to own a website" works. It's really kind of simple! You get paid based on the number of people who visit your site and who click on ad banners. Now here is the not so simple part. You have generate a lot of traffic to your site. How do that? First of all you have to post a blog about something that everyone is interested in right now. Secondly, you have to have ads that relate to that subject. It wouldn't make sense if I were to say, write about Michael Jackson's death and then place ads that teach you how to knit a sweater. What would make sense would be to place ads for a magazine that talk about him. Third way to generate traffic, sadly, you usually have to pay a search engine to post links to your blog that will send people your way. Not exactly a great idea unless you are 100% sure that what you are going to write about will attract tons of people. That's the tricky part! You get paid about 0.1-.10 cents per ad someone clicks. However you have to pay the search engine anywhere from .10 -$10+ per click on your link. So let's say you got 500 people to visit your site. 500 people click on a banner but you only make 1 penny per click. you've made 5 dollars. But because all those people found your website through the search engine at 10 cents per click, you owe the search engine 50 dollars. Now you're out $45. Now we know it can be done! Hell a teen makes millions every year cause she got lucky with MySpace. But for the average Joe it isn't so easy.
So what kind of jobs can you make money at? There are several websites that will pay you to write articles, pay per ads, take surveys and even ask and answer questions! They don't pay much at all! However, if you can get enough of these paying programs and are willing to work all day at it, you could actually make some money. Reasonably if you did enough of these you could make $500-$1000 a month. The only problem with that is you have to make it a full time job and most of the sites have a minimum before you can cash out. Some sites won't let you cash out until you have reached $50 and then they usually charge you a $3 processing fee. So the best way to use these sites is part time and only for extra spending money. Of course you'll want to do something that you like right?
Helium.com will pay you to write articles for them. The way they pay you is by click. So if someone reads your article you get paid. 1 penny I think? I have had an account with them for 3 or 4 years now I am up to a whopping $8.30! I wrote a lot of articles for them! Another site i just found today is Pickjack.com. They actually pay you to ask questions! Mind you, you have to answer 20 correct questions for every question you want to post but hey it is kind of fun. There are several websites that will pay you to take surveys and to click on ads they send you through your email. Again it is usually only 1-3 cents per click. So I am going to try my luck at Pickjack and see where that takes me.

Shut Up and Say It!

So here I am with my very own "Blog"! Writing about anything that catches my fancy and hopefully yours too! I would love to hear from anyone interested in responding. Hopefully with my busy schedule I can keep up with this blog.

Who came up with the name "blog"? It doesn't exactly roll off your tongue. In fact in my opinion it almost sounds like you're belching up something not so tasty! BLOG! Then there is the job of trying to find something people will want to read. Catchy titles , like in my user name, attract people to look at your site but if the content isn't popular....CLICK! The reader will move on to the next page. I think I just heard about 3 clicks as I wrote that last sentence! Oh yeah ! Hey Erin, how did you come up with that name anyhow? Well since you asked! One night I caught my husband taking off my black thong. When I questioned him on it he said it was his. After showing him the label he told me they were in his drawer and pulled out his thong and showed me the similarity to justify his mistake. I have never let him live it down..Muahahaha!!!! OK! You had to be there. Well for your sake maybe it was better you weren't! Honestly unless you are Megan Fox, you really should be wearing a thong in the first place.
